Participation in the wellness group program was deep, emotional, enlightening and rejuvenating.
I learned to make conscious change to my subconscious issues from past hurts and mistakes. I have learned to consciously make a change for my children,the people in my life and future generations.
My Grandmother went to the Eufaula Government Boarding School in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Growing up, us grandkids had a lot of questions about the Cherokee and Muscogee ways that we would ask our Grandmother. Once in a while we would get a Cherokee word from her or a custom or something about our tribes. Watching the documentaries and participating in the program gave me a better understanding of the part of my Grandmother's life she would not talk about.
What I learned resonates so deeply within me that to this day my pain is forever altered. I cried for months, not from the despair, but from a relief I'd never known before. In a very short time I was looking through eyes that I recognized as my own.
